Michelle Hendrikz

Born in South Africa, Michelle is proudly South African and Capetonian, and even though she has spent time abroad and traveled in Africa, her journey has just begun.

She has a keen interest in the human body and mind, using movement, exercise and diet to heal trauma and health issues.

After a serious bike accident at a young age that caused severe knee injury Michelle had to make serious changes to her lifestyle and exercise routine and so found and fell in love with the discipline of yoga.

Initially yoga was simply a physical practice to rehabilitate her knee injury but soon she discovered that yoga was so much more and while it was gently healing and strengthening the body it was calming and shifting the mind.

Her first training was kindly donated by her mentor Leonora in 2000 and so her journey began and she completed 1 year part-time teacher training with Chritinne Withiel from the Jivanda Centre in KwaZulu-Natal n in 2010.

With a holistic background and passion for art, dance and play she believes in working with the person as a whole, mentally , emotionally and physically and each of her classes are infused with music, fun, creativity and connection.

Her passion and focus has been on uplifting and healing the community  and she has been involved in various outreach programmes, making a difference, bringing some love, light and joy into homes.

Her focus is on remedial and rehabilitation of clients, using yoga and various healing mediums to aid, guide and support the individual. Michelle has  a great desire to make a difference in the world, to bring a little kindness, a whole lot of love and a splash of fairy dust.
