Sarah Jane Heath

Katy's yoga journey started when she was very young – she and her mother would attend weekly hatha classes together. However, she only began to take her practice seriously at the age of 16 or 17 while studying at Cape Academy of Performing Arts.

She later completed her 200hr Teacher Training in 2016 and began teaching soon after. In conjunction with her yoga teaching qualification, she has an Honors Degree in Psychology.

She draws influence and inspiration from her many years as a dancer and performer, as well as other movement styles and practices. She strives to create and hold a safe space for students to explore their intelligent edge through breath and movement, free from judgement or expectation.

Her style of teaching is strong, dynamic, and inclusive of all levels, shapes and sizes. Her Vinyasa classes are fluid and grounding, intended to awaken, align, restore and strengthen. They are designed to safely challenge your mind and muscles while connecting you to the beat of your heart and the rhythm of your breath. Come as you are. Grow through what you go through.

Outside of teaching she can be found in the climbing gym, on the mountain, in the forest, or at the beach. She enjoys living a full and active life, with activities including hiking, running, climbing and dancing.  She enjoys a boardgame or cards and reading.

In her pursuit of her long-term goal of completing her degree in Neuroclinical Psychology and general inclination towards helping people she is also a LifeLine volunteer.
