It has been 18 years since Michaela completed her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at Ananda Kutir in Cape Town.
Yoga in its various forms has always interested her. It fills a gap the Western outlook on life is missing. Hatha yoga in particular is often the first step we start experiencing and exploring our body/mind/soul connection. Through mindful exercises we get in touch with ourselves. We often rush through life forgetting to check in and only notice we have gone off-track when dis-ease settles in. Hatha yoga allows us to be in that space of recognition and allowing. It re-fuels all of our bodies and gives us a glimpse of peace within. This glimpse can become a guiding star in our lives with practice and patience.
The most important part for her is to establish the connection between breath and movement in the practice. Without that connection, there is no yoga. And in between there are moments of stillness to catch which we all need through these turbulent times.
